Nice to Meet You!
I’m Adriauna Clay-Potts and I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Georgia. For the past five years, I have had the pleasure of helping individuals become more aligned with the goals they have for themselves and improve their sense of wellbeing. I am especially passionate about working with marginalized people who are struggling with understanding and accepting themselves and who feel rejected by the world around them. As a Black woman, I am intimately familiar with the pain of feeling like you don’t belong. I understand the impacts those feelings can have on your self-worth and your ability to navigate relationships with others.
In my time as therapist, I’ve worked with a diverse array of clients from various marginalized communities, such as BIPOC individuals, those identifying as LGBTQ+, first generation/descendants of immigrants, people in larger bodies, and more. I recognize the importance of providing culturally competent therapy that allows clients to feel safe and lays the foundation needed for change to occur.
As such, I value our therapeutic relationship and the importance of working collaboratively. I embrace your feedback and value your ideas, understanding that you are the expert of your own life. I approach therapy with a feminist viewpoint, being mindful of how culture and systems impact the individual. Most importantly, I bring a caring and compassionate spirit in my work with you to help you reach your therapeutic goals.
